NOTICE WHERE YOU ARE GROWING.

" you're not good at doing something until you've been challenged into doing it."

This quote has been living in my head rent free for the past two weeks. I consider myself to be somewhat a jack of all trades and it amused me when I read this quote and realized just how true it really is. A good amount of efforts needs to be made before you can say you're good at doing something.

This year, I want to build a close relationship with God and to do that, a lot of changes needed to be made in order to live life the way God intends for me to live it. In the changes that I made, one thing I realized I have been doing even when I don't pay attention, is noticing my cup as half empty and not half full. This has been towing with my faith because all I can see is the negative and not much of the positive. Maybe I need some insight!

I believe I mentioned that I want to become a gardener. A good one at that. I want for everything I touch to be healthy. This year I started early. I found a gardening calendar that let's me know when to start planting seeds indoors and when to transfer them outside and when to cut off the first flowers and when I can reap what I sowed. This has been a fascinating journey for me because I don't want to make the same mistakes I made last year but I also don't want to be over protective because plants needs a certain level of care and a certain amount of leaving them alone for them to do their thing. They have to grow in dirt to come out beautiful. They have to be buried and watered for their roots to be solidified.

As I was going through the calendar, a strong desire rose within me to pay attention to my life and the changes that have been happening. The reason why I can only see my cup as half empty is because I am not patient in this season. Everything is dark, confusing and lonely but I'm sure plants feel the same way not knowing that, on a daily basis, something changes. While they are underground, they are solidifying themselves by growing roots that will make them unshakable in the future. I keep getting reminded to notice where I am growing. " you reap what you sow" isn't just something made up to sound fancy.

Before I share the amount of growth that is happening, I would like to thank God in advance for what He is doing and what He's going to do. I am not taking lightly the changes that are happening and all I am to do is be obedient. Blindly at that!

So this post is to tell someone that where you are right now may be uncomfortable, lonely & very confusing but if you can just take a moment to thank God for where you are. Thank God for where He's planted you. Notice that everything around you is being used with a purpose to solidify you and your future. The good, the bad and the ugly. Notice where you are growing!

Dear God,

I thank you for opening my eyes to see and my heart to accept the many small changes in my life. I believe that these small changes are a part of a bigger story and I cannot wait for the seeds you are planting to bloom into beautiful unshakable trees. The same way you have been able to bring clarity into my journey with you, allow that the person reading this post understand that you are the gardener of their life and you will always take care of them in a mighty way and even though they do not understand yet, may their patience increase for the results to be breathtaking and beautiful.

Amen !
