Embedded Character.

" Your Character is what will make people listen to you. Not your title." - Dr Michaux Mundala

I was doing inventory of how I'm doing emotionally and I realized that, I'm "good" but I'm lacking peace. The way how my weeks have been going, I've been having a hard time coping with days. There has been a wave of unsettling circumstances that has been leaving me drained and they all seem to happen on the first day of the week; Pretty much setting the tone for how the end of the week will look like if nothing is resolved. These past few months have been uhm, How can I say this ... Challenging!

I always hear people say that it is not in their character to do certain things and I've always wondered what made them say that in the first place. Character is the mental and moral quality distinctive to an individual. In other words, it's who you are within. What people see over time. it is what you believe in. what distinguishes you from others. Not to be confused with personality!

Hardships reveal character and this past month has been challenging. Truthfully I'm learning as I go and lately, God has been very silent. In a society that has everything at your disposal, shutting off the noise often times help acknowledge things better. As I was listening, a quote I've heard probably a thousand times in my life but never paid attention to, rang in my head and it goes something like this: "you are what you allow."
Pay close attention to your circumstances. There will be friendships and relationships that will test how firm you can stand in your word or how strong your NO's can be. don't apologize for it.
You teaching others HOW to treat you is what determines your character. There will be people who will dislike you. Others will be offended and most will categorize you as " hard to deal with" but ask yourself this question every time you feel guilt and you're about to apologize for taking a stand for yourself; "will I ever treat me this way?"

This month is almost over, take inventory of everything and set a goal for yourself for the month of March. If you need to change some things to make sure that YOU are okay, do it.

Dear God,

I thank you for your continuous wisdom.
When you created us, you put within us characters that distinguish us from others.
I pray that you teach each and everyone of us what it is.
Allow us to pay close attention to what you reveal to us and let us not give into peer pressure and guilt that will compromise who we want to become.
Help us stand firm in who we are as individuals.

Amen.
