5 things to remember in the month of May

" I had to disappoint you on one level for you to dream bigger on the next"

I just want to give myself and you, 5 tips to remember for the month of May

1. Not everybody in this world is like you or has your heart. The courtesy that you are extending to one person, will not be reciprocated to you often times. Instead of getting upset and try to get even. Thank God that he showed you who they are and which doors you shouldn't open next time.

2. Take responsibility for your actions. There is something magnificent that happens to you when you take responsibilities for your actions. " How did you contribute to your misery, procrastination, lack of empathy ..etc.." The day you begin to answer these questions, everything becomes clear and you learn right away how to take care of conflicts in your everyday life.

3. God is in the midst of everything that you do. The reason why you are disappointed right now is because you needed to see that situation in a different angle. Instead of seeing this obstacle as punishment, ask yourself : "how can I go about this situation in a different angle ? what am I not seeing that I need to see ?"

4. Pay Yourself. It took me a very long time to understand what these two words truly meant. I would have a job throughout the year and find myself with nothing at the end of the year. Not a penny to my name. I'd get so discouraged and wonder where my money went. One day I read some tips on how to save money and the first thing that I saw was " Pay yourself". This changed my life. I decided that every pay, I will put money aside just for me. A little congratulations for my effort of 1) Not coming in late 2) not being lazy 3) waking up when I didn't want to 4) To remember why I'm even working in the first place.

5. Confront your insecurities. Summertime is among us and during the winter time, some of us worked out and some of us stuffed our faces ( I definitely did both. Don't judge me!) and now that summertime is here, the saying " SUMMER BODY " is more heard and it's intimidating seeing how others progressed. Learn to confront your insecurities. If you feel that your weight isn't where it needs to be, don't beat yourself up too hard. Work with what you have. work on what you need to work on. slow progress is better than no progress.

Dear God,

Thank you for another month.
A lot didn't get the opportunity to make it this far.
I pray that this month is a flourishing one.
Where we are going wrong, allow us to get right
and where we are falling short, lift us up and give us strength to continue moving forward.
I bless anyone who will read this and I pray that they be touched by this word.

Amen.
