28 days of Devotion - "But, was it for you ?" ( Part 1)

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates

This month I decided to go through 28 days of learning; And what better way of doing so than learning from the source Himself. Ever since January, I have been looking towards zooming out and refocusing on what's more important this year so I reopened my Bible and went to the book of proverbs.
Here's what I've learned so far ...

Day 1/28 - Bad Company (Proverbs 1, 10-19)
" The path of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it."
Choose wisely who you want to be by your side for they represent who you are in front of God and in front of people.

Day 2/28 - Wisdom changes our paths. ( Proverbs 2, 6-12)
God does not bless what He is not a part of. You can try and force situations and convince yourself that " it's God's plan " and the whole time, nothing is going accordingly and then you get upset. But, was it FOR you?

Day 3/28 - Rebuke her ! ( Proverbs 3, 11-12)
God will use anything and anyone to rebuke you and if you're still disregarding His words he will stir the waters and adjust your mood and situation accordingly to remind you that you are where you're not supposed to be.

Day 4/28 - Wisdom is learned. ( Proverbs 4,5-6)
You don't just wake up one morning and tell yourself "I am the wisest person that is walking this earth ! " I mean you could proclaim it all you want but those around you who know you will just laugh at you & if I know you, I am probably laughing at you too. I'm saying this because I know that I am not perfect and by practicing everyday, I am able to understand it better.

Day 5/28 - Envy ( Proverbs 5, 15-17)
Weather you're aware of it or not, you have done this at least once in your life. I know for sure I have and it was something I really needed to self reflect on. " Her chapter 10 is not your chapter 10. Take your time. it's less to you but it's more to someone else.. keep your eyes on what's yours. You don't always need recognition. Be content with where you are. At least you did it!"

Day 6/28 - The lukewarm man ( Proverbs 6, 12-19)
"People do not know your intentions they know who you show. "

Day 7/28 - Discernment ( Proverbs 7, 1-5)
The lessons that you failed to learn in the past will always come back to you. The same way or in a different package and it's up to you to change the direction of the outcome of the situation. Sometimes you will not recognize it but your inner voice knows. Trust it.

Day 8/28 - The Just ( Proverbs 8, 4-6)
I read a story of two women who both had sons at the same time. One's child died in his sleep. the woman who's child died went and switched babies in the middle of the night. She gave the dead baby to the other woman and kept the alive one to herself. As they showed up in front of King Solomon, he heard their dilemma and chose to divide the child that was alive in two. The one who's child died was unbothered that the they had to separate the new born and the woman who's son was the one being separated, cried out and said " Just give her the baby, but please do not cut him in two!" King Solomon knew who the baby belonged to and gave the baby to it's rightful owner. Moral of the story, Wisdom is ALWAYS just. You wouldn't have to compromise for what's rightfully yours.
