First impressions.
''Everywhere you go, the first word, the first move and the first contact are usually the best ones. They determine the kind of person you are... ''
yesterday, I was talking to a stranger, His name was Andy. He looked well groomed and well spoken. It didn't show at first, then he pointed out that he had a tongue ring. As we were talking, he told me a little bit about himself. He was 21 and was turning 22 in June. He had an extremely calm and very comfortable aura around him as he started to talk about himself. He was happy talking to me about himself. Usually when I meet someone new they tend to impress me with what they do. The more they say something, the more they want me to like them. But him, it was different. He didn't come off as arrogant describing to me what it is that he does in life. He was really humble about it but still wanted to emphasize that his job was like no other. He. was. Genuinely. Happy.
He told me he modeled for Toronto's modeling school and that he was in Ottawa just for a couple of days for a photo shoot. The way I met him, was at a buss stop. He didn't really know where he was going and how he was going to take the bus so he asked me if I could help him, I was taking the same bus anyway so I took it with him. That's how we started talking. I learned a lot about modeling and how the industry works.
Who would of thought ! First impressions are usually what determines who you are as a person, this is why when you have a job interview the first thing they look at is your resume. Aside from the piercing he had, everything about him looked appropriate and I was glad I helped him because if it wasn't for him I would of probably continued going through the day upset because it wasn't a good day. As the conversation progressed, he told me one thing I will remember my whole life He said " you are the most beautiful person. Inside and out. I'm not saying this because I'm trying to recruit you to start modeling; On the contrary, I am saying this to you because many people that I've encountered today, either gave me a weird look the second they noticed the piercing in my mouth or they just walked past me as if they didn't hear/see me ask them for help. As of today, I want you to go through life happy. you have an aura around you that draws people to gravitate towards you and I want you to keep this light with you always. It was really nice meeting you Gloria. " & he exited the bus and went his way.
I didn't know him and probably won't ever remember him as the days go by but he made everything better that day. I believe some people are sent in your life even if it's just for 5 minutes, to teach you something, show you something or to leave a mark in your life somehow. Don't take any encounters lightly.
This was my favorite encounter. I had to write about it so that I don't forget these types of people.
